Project Scope

The project included repairs to deficient conditions that existed in the exterior wall construction, which led to moisture infiltration and deterioration of building components. Work included repointing of brick and limestone mortar joints, rebuilding brick masonry, repairing steel lintels and flashing.

This project also included replacing steel lintels and flashing, repairing & painting wood soffits and fascia, repairing concrete window sills & limestone cornice and application of waterproofing coating, sealant replacement, restoring/repairing the balcony structure, and some window replacements. Work was completed in four (4) phases over a five (5) year period from 2012 to 2017.

The project scope included repair of deteriorated masonry, architectural precast elements, and structural steel at this Dedham Public School building. Repairs include 100% repointing the entire structure, replacement of the architectural precast elements, chemical cleaning of the exterior walls, replacement of deteriorated steel lintels above windows, window re-securement, and sealant replacement. Construction was completed in 2006.

Project Scope

This project consisted of the repair of the significantly deteriorated masonry and back-up structural steel at the Dedham High School gymnasium building. Repairs included replacing an entire section of masonry wall with new brick masonry, including the windows within the wall, and replacing deteriorated structural steel lintels above windows. Construction was completed in 2005.

The work for this project involved the extensive exterior and interior renovations of this historic firehouse, situated at the base of Bunker Hill. The scope of work included enlarging the apparatus bay doors to allow for modern firefighting equipment. Along with the structural renovations associated with the bay doors, the roof and all windows were replaced, and the building was repointed 100%. The interior also received a gut-renovation, providing new bunk spaces, a new kitchen and lounge area, and new dispatch area.

A main focus of this project was also the introduction of new, state of the art, firefighter health and safety procedures. Engine 50 is the first firehouse in the City to be designed with “hot”, “warm” and “cold” zones, to segregate the contaminants brought back from a fire on the firefighter’s clothing and equipment, from the working and living spaces of the firehouse. This included new HVAC systems to segregate the zones, as well as the necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades. The work will be completed in 2018.

Project Scope

The work for this project involved the stabilization and restoration of the historic Weston Old Library, constructed c.1898, in the Boston Post Road Historic district of Weston, MA. Work included, repointing large portions of the brick and granite façade, removal and resetting of granite gable end parapets, including new copper flashings, and replacement of historically accurate copper gutters and downspouts. In addition, steel and leaded glass windows were restored in place, and wood windows were removed, restored and reinstalled. The work was completed in 2014/2015.
